I became a bereaved parent on 29 May 1991, when my third born daughter, Jordon Cally died due to a severe neural tube defect at age 7 weeks. One day sitting in the park in March 1993, I began to write down what I was feeling inside. What a wonderful therapy it was for me. I really started to 'clean out' the pain and negativity that had built up inside me from my unresolved grief. It was a great release to be able to describe what I had been unable to say for so long. It was a bonus that I could make it rhyme and with some coaching from my accomplished poetry writing friend, Mary, I learnt to make the words flow. Along with my beautiful newborn daughter Kelsi Jordon who fills my 'empty arms', this book is a big part of my healing process. All of those caring folk who have so freely given of their personal works, myself included, hope this book may encourage you to put pen to paper and try writing as a therapy too. We send our kindest thoughts to you in your time of loss. May you find the love, strength comfort and understanding that you may seek and need. We have walked this path before you and will walk beside you now, for you are not alone Karlene Copies of the book are
available for purchase for NZ$12.95 plus postage.
